Ongoing 

I am writing my dissertation about the syntax of switch-reference in understudied clause types and its interaction with quantification at the interface with semantics. The chair of committee is Professor Mark Baker.

I am the leader of the Language Documentation Project on the Panoan language Xinane (ProDocLin). The language is spoken by a small recently contacted people from the Brazilian Amazon, who live in the indigenous reservation Terra Indígena Kampa e Isolados do Rio Envira. The project is held by Museu do Índio (Funai, Brazil) and Unesco.

I am a member of the Nucleus of Linguistic Research (NuPeLi) held by the department of Social Anthropology of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGAS-UFRJ).

2014-2016

I was the leader of the Yawanawa (Panoan) research team in the language revitalization project entitled Línguas Indígenas Ameaçadas: Pesquisa e Teorias Linguísticas para a Revitalização (Endangered Indigenous Languages: Research and Linguistic Theory on Revitalization), which involved two other endangered languages from Brazil: Guató and Patxohã. The project was held by the Brazilian National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPq).

March-May 2014

I spent 3 months in Australia taking part in an collaborative project on Language Revitalization between the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and the National Indigenous Foundation of Brazil (FUNAI).

 

I was a Visiting Researcher at The Australian National University (ANU) during this period.

April-December 2013

I was the leader of the Yawanawa Language Documentation Project entitled Yawanawahãu Xinã (Memory of the Yawanawa People), which was part of the Indigenous Language Documentation Project (ProDocLin), held by Museu do Índio and Unesco. I had been a researcher in the project since April 2010.
